The National Weather Service (NWS), in partnership with the City of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Office of Emergency Management, and the Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) presents a regional, multi-agency, interactive Hurricane and Flooding Tabletop Exercise (TTX).  The location of the workshop/exercise will be at the Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC), 1398 Carrollton Crossing Drive, Kernersville, NC.

This tabletop exercise will provide an overview of the products and services available from the National Hurricane Center and National Weather Service local forecast offices before, during, and after tropical cyclones. After the product review, a tabletop exercise that focuses on high winds and widespread flooding will be conducted that will utilize these products and services.  Exercise participants should plan to bring their laptops with them, as the exercise will include online activities that will require retrieving weather data and mock communications utilizing online messaging tools.   

There will be two sessions. Session 1 from 8:30 AM until Noon will be for emergency management personnel, public safety, and first-response organizations. Session 2 from 1 PM until 4:30 PM will be for public information officers, non-profit and volunteer organizations, language access offices, municipal staff, and other community partners.  Both workshops are open to the aforementioned personnel and officials from the following 12 counties: Surry, Stokes, Rockingham, Caswell, Yadkin, Forsyth, Guildford, Alamance, Davie, Davidson, Randolph, and Montgomery.   Each session will be limited to 80 people, so please do not delay registering for either session if you are interested in attending.
