This course will present the Technical Rescuer with the knowledge, skills, and ability to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Eleven and Twelve
(Surface and swift water) of NFPA 1006: Standard for Technical Rescue Professional Qualifications. Classes included in this course are: Rescue Operations for
Water Rescue, Rescue Techniques, Transportation, and Victim Management. Tailored for emergency responders, this program focuses on the specialized skills needed to navigate and mitigate risks in water environments. Participants will delve into the intricacies of hydrology, river features, and the dynamics of fast flowing water, mastering techniques for safe and effective water rescues. The curriculum emphasizes hands on training, equipping technicians with the ability to utilize watercraft, ropes, and other specialized equipment. Whether responding to river rescues or flood emergencies, this course ensures that participants are well prepared to handle the challenges posed by North Carolina's diverse water landscapes. Students will be required to bring water shoes.
